Special Notes on Monster and it's TP Moves

Ruszor can spawn in multiple sizes. Larger ones are VT and smaller are T, at 75.

Sub-zero Smash seems to be the chosen TP move when hate is taken from behind the mob. Much like a wyrms Spike Flail.

Water based spells and skill chains heal Ruszor

Obtaining the Spell
Minimum Blue Mage Level Needed To Acquire Spell: Level 63. with Magus Jubbah equipped, 66 without.
Sub-zero Smash is best hunted in Beaucedine Glacier [S]

This spell can be hunted starting when you can learn IF your party is all 75. At least a Strong Trio is best.

Are special items are needed? A way to remove Parylisis can help.

Ruszor Hunting Grounds Camp #1
Name Level Location
Ruszor 76-81 Beaucedine Glacier [S]

After you enter the glacier a good Camp exists at G-10 at the ice lake, very close to the zone entrance. You will need sneak to get past some ghost and skelitons to reach camp.

In the camp, three Ruszor spawn, there are no other mobs in the area, so you can easily pull the mobs to a safe spot and fight them. Ruszor aggro by sight and link. Repops are fast enough that one hunting party will have little in the way of waiting.

The best way to see Sub-zero Smash is to let the puller establish some hate, then for the rest of the party to get behind the Ruszor and open up with some big damage. This will of course get hate, and supply the Ruszor with enough TP for a move. Sub-zero Smash is a high probability if you pull hate from behind before the move is chosen. This is much like a spike flail sort of move.

Fights are not overly difficult, but the Ruszors TP moves are very annoying. The Terror from Frozen Mist is very long lasting. It is a good idea to have a dedicated healer outside the range who can Rerpose or sleep the Ruszor and heal the party until it wears.

The Stoneskin that the move gives is pretty strong also. Dispelling it helps a lot.

Severing Fangs def down is Very large, close to 40%. Well worth erasing.

A solid party should have no issues, and this should be easily three-maned (BLU, Tank, healer) with skill. I'm sure a sleep-nuke stratagy could work, though it might be tricky to trigger the move.

~~~
If the first camp is taken, a second good camp is at the ramp in J-9, where the mobs can be pulled to and fought safely. There are a large number of Ruszor here to pull and several parties can be active.  Invisible is needed to reach this camp due to sight aggro Giants.
Special notes about the spell a Blue Mage may like to know
Can I solo it? Not Easily.
Do I need any special items? A way to remove Paraysis and erase help a lot.
Do Ruszor like to use the move? Yes, when triggered like spike flail they do.
The Spell is a blunt type of damage.
Sub-zero Smash's Paralysis seems to be improved by MND.
Sub-zero Smash can be paired with any of the following spells to create the Fast Cast Trait: Bad Breath or Auroral Drape.
