Special Notes on Monster and it's TP Moves | ||
Gnoles to be frank, are annoying. Plenilune Embrace varies based on mob level and moon phase. The closer to full moon, the more HP recovered, and status effects removed. At Full moon the move can recover 25-30% of the Gnoles health. It goes without saying that Asuran Claws hurts. A Six hit move is not to be giggled at. Call of the Moon's intimidation rate can be quite high. Gnoles aggro by sight. Gnoles seem to have a Regen effect during Nighttime, and are also stronger in general in the night hours. Standing Lobisons seem to have higher attack, lower accuracy, higher defense, and guard more. Under a Full Moon Gnoles might gain True sight. |

Plenilune
Embrace is
best hunted
in Batallia Downs (S).
This spell is difficult to solo for a 75 BLU in all locations but camp #1. Odds are you will want a strong trio or more for this spell in any other hunting camp, though skilled Ninja or /NIN duos could do the job. Nothing special outside of a party that can dish out the damage is needed for this spell! Though being able to Sneak and Invisible oneself is needful for getting to the camps.
In the South Western part of Batallia Downs (S), 13 Gnoles spawn, they are marked above with red dots. To reach them, teleport in via the Campaign warper, sneak and invisible yourself to avoid goblins and tigers and other aggro, and head west to the camp. Take care in pulling your target to a place where you will not be aggroed by another Gnole, or tiger, and begin to fight your Gnole, a 75 should be able to solo these without too much difficulty, though the fights can be drawn out via the use of Plenilune Embrace, so watch your MP, and don't run out! The Gnoles in this zone will never stand, so you will not see Nox Blast or Asuran Claws here. So the odds of the mob using Plenilune Embrace are higher.
In Jugner Forest [S], at E/F-6 around the Maiden's spring there are eight Lobison type Gnoles. To reach them, teleport in via the Campaign warper, and head east to the camp. Invisible is needed for sight aggro Tigers. To the south there are a massive 45 Decrepit Gnoles! Once again, invisible is needed due to sight aggro from Tigers and Orcs. Gnoles aggro by both sight and sound, and WILL link. Take care when making pulls. For Party make up, the spell can be duoed by a BLU and NIN/WAR or /NIN Tank. Though a larger party makes things much safer. A PLD tank works well with Gnoles, and can take the hits with some healing support. With these a bigger group is a plus, bring friends to act as support. As long as your main tank is 75 and skilled, winning is not difficult under the lower moon phases. Remember as the moon gets fuller, the Gnoles will get stronger. Hunt here at lower moon phases. All things considered, fights with them are pretty strait forward. Pull a Gnole to a safe camp, and deal damage in a slow fashion until you see Plenilune Embrace, then go crazy and kill the Gnole, be ready to stun any further Plenilune Embraces to make it die much faster!
Lobison can be found in the Orc Stronghold of La Vaule, and Fusty Gnoles in Xarcabard (S). There is a lot more aggro, and difficulty in reaching them, so they are not as good an option as Camp #1 or 2.
