Special Notes on Monster and it's TP Moves | ||
Amoeban Seem to
be BLM and DRK. They favor Stone based spells when BLM, and use the
full ABS line when DRK. They may have fast cast. Osmosis can steal almost any buff when used by mobs including 2-hours! The Paralyse from Vacuole Discharge is very strong. |

Osmosis is best
hunted in Abyssea
- Vunkerl, Abyssea - Attohwa, or Abyssea - Misareaux
This spell can be soloed at 80 with some risk. A party makes things much safer. Are special items are needed? A way to silence the Amoeban makes a big difference. Being able to remove Paralisis is a must.
Right after you enter the zone there are a large number of Stream Amoeban floating about. Like any monster in an Abyssea zone, the more they are killed the higher level they respawn at, so for a level 80 you may see DC to IT mobs. DC's can be soloed with some risk. The TP moves are very damaging, and Discharge ignores shadows. It is very easy to get unlucky and die. A small party of 80+ can handle them. A trio of BLU's ranging from 80-85 had no issues. Pull with a ranged weapon so you will not aggro other Amoeban with your casting. The mob will open with a spell so having shadows up to absorb it helps. You can outrun any aga. The paralyze is very strong, and having someone tasked for getting it off is helpful. Being able to dispel any stolen buffs can help. Unlike the Murex, these stun easily. It is not hard to stop most casting.
Once you enter the zone, follow the path down to the first open area, do not cross the bridge, just go up the side that you pop out on, and in the tunnel you will find about a half dozen Crevice Ameoban. Handle things Just as described in camp #1
Once you enter the zone, you'll find a lot of Protoameoban floating about. No shortage of targets. Handle things Just as described in camp #1 |
