The Petrification from Sand Trap is very short term.

Jamming Wave's Silence lasts for a long time.

 

Obtaining the Spell
Minimum Blue Mage Level Needed To Acquire Spell: Level 36.
Magnetite Cloud is best hunted in Eastern Altepa Desert.

This spell can be safely soloed around level 38.

Be sure to bring Echo Drops to deal with Jamming Wave's silence, and Eye Drops for Sandstorm's Blind. Antidotes for Spikeball can help. If you are hunting in your 40's, bring a low damage weapon.

Antica Hunting Grounds Camp #1

Antican Auxiliarius 35-39 Eastern Altepa Desert

The Best camp for hunting Magnetite Cloud is Eastern Altepa Desert in the J-7/K-7 area. In this area you will find eight Antican Auxiliarius, which are Warrior type Antica. They aggro by sound and will link so take care. There is a huge supply of prey to learn from here, and it's easy to reach with no aggro issues other then the Antica themselves.

If you are fighting the Antica while they are still EM or higher, the fights can be a bit dangerous, but if you are careful you can win easily.

Buff yourself up, and then pull the Antica to a safe camp with your ranged weapon or Pinecone Bomb. Once the Antica is in range, debuff with your choice of spells between Head Butt and Bludgeon attacks. Watch your MP, and use Wild Carrot as needed to keep your HP up. You'll need to kill the Antica as fast as you can, as you will run out of MP in a long term fight with them. So you'll need to hope to see the spell in the short fight. If you get silenced, use Echo Drops quickly. The poison from Spikeball is annoying, but they miss with the move so often its not a huge worry.

If you wait until the level you can use the spell to learn it, which is level 46, then you will simply own these Antica at Camp #1. You can use a low damage weapon to feed TP, and cure any damage easily. If you see Magnetite Cloud you will be able to spam damage spells for a quick kill, and hopefully see that yellow learn message.

There are many other Antica that are between levels 35 and 49 in both East and West Altepa Deserts. They are scattered about, and there is often aggro from Sabotender, and Scorpions. That makes them less appealing targets then Camp #1.

With the good low level camp, the higher level Antica are not worth the hassle.

 

Special notes about the spell a Blue Mage may like to know
Can I solo it? Yes. By the time you can learn it's possible with care. By the time you could use it, it's very simple.
Do I need any special items? Echo Drops are a must. Antidotes are a plus. A Low damage weapon to feed the Antica TP is useful.
Do Antica like to use the move? This class of monster has a lot of TP moves. It can sometimes take a long time for them to choose to use it.
The Damge from this spell is calculated as (Your Current HP/ 6) + (Your level /1.875).
Magnetite Cloud can be paired with Ice Break or Osmosis to create the Magic Defense Bonus Trait.
