Special Notes on Monster and it's TP Moves

Ahriman are Black Mages. They love to cast ~aga spells, most often after Level 5 Petrify lands!

Magic Barrier Does not block Blue Physical Magic Spells.

Level 5 Petrify will only work if your character's level is a multiple of five.

Obtaining the Spell
Minimum Blue Mage Level Needed To Acquire Spell: Level 73 with Magus Jubbah equipped, 76 without.
Eyes On Me is best hunted in Beaucedine Glacier.

This spell can be safely soloed with no issues when you can learn it . Waiting to 81 so you need not deal with Level 5 Petrify is a nice idea, but not needful.

Bringing Eye Drops for blind can help a little bit. You may want an Either for some fast MP in case you get caught by Mind Break. A low damage weapon to feed the Ahriman TP helps.

Ahriman Hunting Grounds Camp #1
Name Level Location
Bat Eye 40-42 Beaucedine Glacier

The Best place to hunt Ahriman class mobs is in Beaucedine Glacier. There are five spawns in the area around the outpost, and another dozen in easy walking distance. You will have no lack of targets.

At Level 80+ when you can learn the spell, you will face no aggro on the Glacier, so you can walk about as needed, and kill your targets where you find them. So grab your low damage weapon, and start to beat on Ahriman until one gives you your spell.

Waiting until Level 81 can be a plus. Once you are no longer subject to Level 5 Petrify, this one small bit of annoyance is gone.

Ahriman Hunting Grounds Camp #2
Name Level Location
Evil Eye 45-48 Xarcabard

~

There are Evil Eyes all over
Xarcabard, in good numbers. So it is a good zone to hunt the spell in based on ease of finding targets. Warp in via the Outpost, or get a teleport, and get to work with your low damage weapon. You face no risk here.

Ahriman Hunting Grounds Camp #3
Name Level Location
Floating Eye 34-36 Ranguemont Pass

At H-6/I-6 in Ranguemont Pass you will find four Ahriman. They are the lowest level targets from which you can learn the spell. Simply beat upon them with a low damage weapon, and go for the kill when the spell pops up. Very simple fights here. Not many targets though.

Ahriman Hunting Grounds Camp #4
Name Level Location
Evil Eye 46-48 Castle Zvahl Baileys
Evil Eye 46-48 Castle Zvahl Keep
Morbid Eye 52-53 Castle Zvahl Keep
Morbid Eye 52-55 Castle Zvahl Baileys
Deadly Iris 55-56 Castle Zvahl Keep
Ahriman 63-65 Castle Zvahl Baileys
Fachan 73-75 Uleguerand Range
Smolenkos 78-79 Uleguerand Range

There are no shortage of other Ahriman about. The Higher ones will take a party to kill, and with the abundant low level targets none of these are recommended.

Special notes about the spell a Blue Mage may like to know
Can I solo it? Yes. You should have no problems.
Do I need any special items? No. A low damage weapon to feed the monster TP is useful.
Do Ahriman like to use the move? They have a lot of TP moves, it can take a long time to see it.
The Spell acts much like a form of Magical Stoneskin blocking a set amount of magical damage.
Magic Barrier can be paired with Mysterious Light,  Metallic Body, or Hecatomb Wave to create the Max MP Boost Trait.
