Obtaining the Spell
Minimum Blue Mage Level Needed To Acquire Spell: Level 36
Geist Wall is best hunted in Bibiki Bay.

This spell can be soloed starting at level 37. No party is needed for the Bibiki Bay camp.

Bringing some Antidotes for Toxic Spit are helpful. A low damage weapon to feed TP is useful.

Some Blue Mages believe that if you have a buff up there is a greater chance that Geist Wall will be used, as it gives the Eft a reason to use the spell. This is unproven.

Eft Hunting Grounds Camp #1
Name Level Location
Eft 33-36 Bibiki Bay

Once you zone into Bibiki Bay, you will find several Eft in the area marked with a circle on the map above. There are eleven spawns, several wandering about alone, and many down on the docks and area near. Efts do not aggro, but WILL link, be careful when they are close to each other.

The only aggro you need to worry about in this part of the zone are two goblins, a Goblin Pathfinder on the far west side of the circle, and a Goblin Shaman on the ramp down to the docks, and the occasional bomb that spawns. Sight aggro in both cases. The Bomb can aggro magic also. Take care around them, they can all still aggro at the level where you can learn the spell.

The fights are pretty simple. Watch your health as some of the damage moves can hurt.

Note that a NM Eft named Intulo can spawn here if you kill enough Efts. He is level 46-47, and can kill you easily if you are in your 30's or even low 40's. Leave him alone if he pops!

Eft Hunting Grounds Camp #2
Name Level Location
Tartarus Eft 76-78 Bibiki Bay

If you desire a real challenge you can hunt the High level Eft in the West side of the Bay. Because of the excellent lower level camp #1, these are not recommended.
